Construction Begins on Center City Buildings

This week good progress was made on the removal of the existing foundations as well as with the successful testing of geotechnical elements of the Center City project site.

Permits have been issued for the foundation of the project, and this work is expected to begin immediately. For the next several weeks, more than 500 auger cast piles (foundation support structure) will be installed at the project site. This work will look similar to the geotechnical exploratory work that has been going on for the last few weeks and involve mostly the same equipment. The impacts of the work are expected to be similar to recent weeks: some noise and vibration. The construction company continues to monitor the site to mitigate any impacts to the local community.
