Motorists Advised of Upcoming Abbot Road Closure

EAST LANSING, Mich. — As a part of the current Park District Planning Area project, motorists are advised that a road construction project is scheduled to take place on Abbot Road, from Grand River Avenue to just north of Albert Avenue, beginning Monday, Aug. 17 to Wednesday, Aug. 19.
During the construction, both southbound and northbound lanes of Abbot Road will be closed to through traffic.
There will be posted detours in the construction area during the road closure. The detour for southbound Abbot Road traffic will be Burcham Drive to M.A.C. Avenue to Grand River Avenue and the detour for northbound Abbot Road traffic will be M.A.C. Avenue to Burcham Drive.
The scope of the work for the project will consist of milling the existing roadway and repaving the roadway with new asphalt and pavement markings.
