Underground Utility Work – Abbot Rd. and Albert Ave. Road Closures Beginning Friday 11/01/19 – Throu
Beginning Friday, November 1, underground utility work will begin at the intersection of Albert Ave. and Abbot Road and this intersection will be closed to through traffic. This closure requires the following traffic detours:
Abbot Rd., from Grand River to Albert Ave. Vehicles headed southbound on Abbot will be detoured to Oakhill Avenue. Vehicles headed northbound on Abbot will be detoured to MAC Ave.
West Bound Albert Ave., from Grove St. to Abbot Rd. Through traffic headed westbound on Albert Ave. will be detoured to Grove St.
Albert Ave. Parking Garage will be accessible via west bound Albert Ave.
It is anticipated the intersection will be re-opened Saturday afternoon.
Pedestrian and business access will be maintained as the work takes place. City staff will be visiting businesses in the affected area to discuss the planned road closures.
West Grand River Ave. Underground Utility Work Beginning 11/04/19
Underground Utility work will shift to the 100 block of west Grand River Ave. beginning Monday, November 4. There will be lane closures on W. Grand River Ave. during this work. The lane closure plan is being finalized and will be published later this week.
