Construction Update 09-27-19

Park District


The Abbot


The south half of the Level 7 deck has been poured, while the Level 7 North panels and joists are nearly complete and being prepped for a pour on Monday (9/30). Rebar has been installed on the North Core. The North Core will be detailed, closed, and poured next week, many days ahead of schedule. Next week more CMU masonry walls will be built. CFMF walls on level 1-3 will also be built enclosing the parking garage exterior walls. L7 wall panels will be delivered to the site on Monday (9/30) and erection will commence.


Work on the covered pedestrian walkway along Grand River Ave. will begin on Monday (09/30).


The Graduate Hotel


This week at the Graduate Hotel the south portion of the level 2 post tension deck was poured. The stressing of this deck is scheduled for (9/28). BWL has made headway with removing pole C, setting the transformer on the north and beginning to remove the remaining two poles. Next week, work will continue on the north portion of the level 2 post tension deck. The pour date for this is currently set for 10/07. Structural columns for the south will be poured out by mid-week. The contractor will strip and form level 3 post tension south towards the end of the week.


Albert Ave. Road Closure Between Abbot Rd. and Evergreen Ave.


On Monday (09/23), underground infrastructure work began on Albert Ave., between Abbot Rd. and Evergreen Ave. This work requires the closure of Albert Ave. between Abbot Rd. and Evergreen Ave. Traffic heading southbound on Abbot Rd. will be detoured via Oakhill Ave. Traffic headed westbound on Albert Ave., will be detoured Abbot Rd. to Grand River, or Abbot Rd. to Oakhill Ave. Traffic heading southbound on Evergreen Ave. will be directed to Valley Court Drive to Delta.


Center City


The 12 story Landmark Building is complete.


Albert Ave. opened back up to two way traffic this afternoon. The Newman Lofts building is nearing completion and a Temporary Certificate of Occupancy is anticipated to be issued by 10/01. The parking deck is open and accessible to the public. Tenant spaces on the ground level are progressing with various general contractors completing this work. Fosters Coffee is now open.



The Hub @ East Lansing


The water main project in the alley has been completed. Site restoration is now underway.
