Construction Update 09-06-19

Park District - The Abbot

The 5th floor concrete on metal deck is completed. Cold form metal framing is ¾ complete on the 5th floor and the south ½ of the 6th floor is decked. Concrete placement for level 6 south is scheduled for Wednesday (09/11). The north elevator core is scheduled to pour up to level 9 on Tuesday (9/10). The 2nd floor elevator lobby and ramp stairs are scheduled to pour on Monday (9/9). Underground plumbing is complete and inspected. Underground electrical is underway and will be completed by the end of next week. Concrete slab on grade for the electrical room and fire pump rooms is tentatively scheduled for the week of 9/16. Overhead plumbing rough is in progress in parking levels 2 and 3.

LBWL continues to re-route the overhead power and estimates that the remaining poles will be removed the week of 9/16. Albert Ave. will be closed starting Monday, 9/16, when the construction fence begins to be placed.

Park District - The Graduate Hotel

This week at the Graduate the contractor poured the main core through level 6 on Wednesday and moved their forms up to level 7 for the next pour on 9/10. Also Wednesday they poured the lower portion of the North Slab on Grade and are set to finish the Slab on Grade Tuesday 9/10. The contractor continues to work on the 2nd floor post tension deck (south half), with the current projected date for this south half pour on 9/16. BWL is onsite daily and is moving forward with the pole relocation and transformer setting on the north side of the building.

Center City

The 12 story Landmark Building is complete the residents will be watching the Spartans take on and beat the Broncos this weekend. Go Green!

The 10 story Albert Ave. building has finishes wrapping up on the upper floors. The outside amenity deck is getting its landscaping and green roof. Exterior skin is just days from being complete and balconies closely behind. The parking deck is open and accessible to the public. Work on Albert Ave. continues while all paving and hardscapes are substantially completed. Landscaping, planters and tree installation is mostly complete. Tenant spaces on the ground level are progressing with various general contractors completing this work. Fosters Coffee will be opening in the next few weeks! Albert Ave. is mostly opened back up for pedestrians and will be for two way traffic shortly.

Grand River Ave. Sidewalk Repairs

Staff has been working on the feasibility of completing the Grand River Ave. sidewalk project originally planned to occur in conjunction with the Center City project, in the 100/200 block of E. Grand River Ave. It was determined that it is not feasible to complete the project this year. The project will commence in May 2020. Last week the contractor completed some minor repairs and improvements to the sidewalks. On Monday, (09/09) the East Lansing Dept. of Public Works will be completing additional sidewalk repairs at both the east and west end of the 100/200 block of E. Grand River Ave. Pedestrian access to businesses will be maintained at all times.

The Hub @ East Lansing

Work continues on the water main project in the alley. Once it is completed, the alley, along with the parking lot, will be paved.
