Construction Update 08-16-19

Park District

On the corner building, cold-form steel has begun to be installed. The south stair core is poured to the 8th level and the north core is complete to the 6th floor. Concrete pours for level 5 are expected to begin in late August.

The Board of Water and Light will be removing (3) power poles on Evergreen Ave. Once that work is completed the underground utility work will begin along with the closure of Albert Ave. The tentative start date for the underground utility work and closure of Albert Ave. is early September.

On the hotel site, the project continues to go vertical, as underground work is well underway as well in preparation for slab-on-grade concrete pours expected to take place in the near future.

The parking deck is open and accessible to the public. Work on Albert Ave. continues while all paving and hardscapes are substantially completed. Landscaping, planters and tree installation is mostly complete. Tenant spaces on ground level are progressing with various general contractors completing this work.

The sidewalk along Grand River has reopened. Grand River sidewalk, curb and gutter, and sidewalk are complete with the alley to be repaved following water main work.

The contractor continues to monitor the site for safety and implement additional traffic control techniques as necessary based on delivery volumes.
