Construction Update 08-09-19
Park District
On the corner building, the 4th floor north transfer slab pour has been completed and 50% of the post tension cables have been stressed. The remaining cable stressing will be completed after the loading of the 3 floors above. The south stair core is poured to the 7th level and the north core will be completed to the 6th floor. Panels will begin to be placed on the 5th floor in the coming days.
The Board of Water and Light will be removing (3) power poles on Evergreen Ave. Once that work is completed the underground utility work will begin along with the closure of Albert Ave. The tentative start date for the underground utility work and closure of Albert Ave. is early September.
On the hotel site, the project continues to go vertical, as underground work is well underway as well in preparation for slab-on-grade concrete pours expected to take place in the near future.
Center City
The 12 story Landmark building is mostly complete with final inspections underway. Furniture installation continues at all levels with move-ins planning to begin soon.
The 10 story Albert Ave. building has finishes in various stages on the upper floors. Exterior skin is nearing completion in the next 2 weeks with balcony installation following close behind. The parking deck is open on the 1st level and should be open through the 4th level in the coming days once all final inspections are complete. Work on Albert Ave. continues while all paving and hardscapes are substantially completed. Landscaping, planters and tree installation is progressing now and should be completed in the next week. Tenant spaces on ground level are progressing with various general contractors completing this work.
The Hub @ East Lansing
The contractor continues to work on finishes, punch list, final cleaning, and final inspections. The sidewalk along Grand River has been closed and will remain closed until all work on that side of the building is complete. Grand River sidewalk, curb and gutter, and sidewalk are complete with the alley to be repaved following water main work. Deliveries will continue with all of the finish materials that need to go into the building.
The contractor continues to monitor the site for safety and implement additional traffic control techniques as necessary based on delivery volumes.
