Construction Update 08-02-19

Park District

The 4th floor north transfer slab pour has been completed and 50% of the post tension cables have been stressed. The remaining cable stressing will be completed after the loading of the 3 floors above. The south stair core is poured to the 6th level and the north core will be completed to the 5th floor by end of the week. Decking and joist delivery is expected onsite on Friday (8/2) and the 4th floor CFMF panels will arrive next week.

The Board of Water and Light will be removing (3) power poles on Evergreen Ave. Once that work is completed the underground utility work will begin along with the closure of Albert Ave. The tentative start date for the underground utility work and closure of Albert Ave. is early September.

On the hotel site, the project continues to go vertical. The plumbing sub-contractor is mobilized on site, with underground plumbing taking place in advance of slab-on-grade concrete pours.

Center City

The 12 story Landmark building is nearing completion. Furniture installation has begun at all levels and will be completing in time for the early move-ins starting mid-month.

The 10 story Albert Ave. building has finishes in various stages on the upper floors. Exterior skin is nearing completion in the next 3 weeks with balcony installation following close behind. The parking deck is open on the 1st level and should be open through the 4th level in the coming week once all final inspections are complete. Work on Albert Ave. continues while all paving and hardscapes are substantially completed. Landscaping, planters and tree installation is progressing now and should be completed in the next 2 weeks. Tenant spaces on ground level are progressing with various general contractors completing this work.

The Hub @ East Lansing

Finishes, punch list, final cleaning, and final inspections are ongoing at all residential floors and finishes are ongoing in the common/amenity areas. Metal panels on the tower are ongoing. Roofing is complete with pavers at the high roof on going and to be complete in the next week or so. The sidewalk along Grand River has been closed and will remain closed until all work on that side of the building is complete. Landscape pavers are complete along the north side of the site and are turning back down Bogue. Plants are all installed, mulched, and irrigated. Grand River sidewalk, curb and gutter, and sidewalk are complete with the alley to be repaved following water main work. Deliveries will continue with all of the finish materials that need to go into the building.

The contractor continues to monitor the site for safety and implement additional traffic control techniques as necessary based on delivery volumes.
