Construction Update 07-19-19
Park District
Last week, the contractor completed pours for half of the 4th floor. This week they began the post-tension steel work on that half of the 4th floor while they placed steel on the other half in preparations for pouring the second half. They are targeting to complete the transfer slab in early August, when they will transition to the placement of cold form steel for the floors above. Early August is also the target for underground utility work to mobilize on site.
On the hotel site, the project has gone vertical with the installation of several columns and core walls. The Plumbing contractor will begin mobilizing on the site next week to begin their work.
Center City
The Grand River building is nearing full completion as the main thrust of work is related to final finishes, cleaning, punch list items, and inspections in preparations for a certificate of occupancy. On the ground floor, Target has soft opened, and their grand opening is on Sunday 07/21.
On the Albert side, work is largely complete on decorative pavers within the site. Exterior painting of the parking deck is mostly complete as the exterior brick work, panels, and decorative finishes are nearing completion as well. Balconies are arriving soon and will start installation once the exterior panels have been finished. Inside, work continues on drywall, cabinets, and paint for the apartments.
Work on M.A.C. Avenue was completed this week, and M.A.C. is fully open. Albert Ave., between M.A.C. Ave. and Abbot Rd. is scheduled to re-open on Saturday (07/20). The road will shift from a full closure back to the previous configuration of only the west bound lane being open between M.A.C. Ave. and Abbot Rd.
The Hub @ East Lansing
Finishes are ongoing at level 2 and from level 8 up. Metal panels on the tower are ongoing. A limited amount of roofing is left to complete as weather permits and roof pavers continue at the main upper roof. Level 1 and 1 mezzanine common/amenity area finishes are ongoing . The sidewalk along Grand River has been closed and will remain closed until all work on that side of the building is complete. Landscape pavers continue to follow the site work. Trees have been planted and plants are to follow next week at the ground level. Grand River sidewalk, curb and gutter, and sidewalk have been removed and replaced. Deliveries will continue with all of the finish materials that need to go into the building. The contractor continues to monitor the site for safety and implement additional traffic control techniques as necessary based on delivery volumes.
