Downtown Construction Update 10-26-18

Center City

On the Grand River building, level 9 was poured this week and panels have begun to be installed. Level 10 should be poured in the near future. Interior work continues as windows and exterior metal panels make their way higher up the building. The first phase of rough- ins for plumbing, electrical, and mechanical continue to make their way up the interior of the building as well.

On the Albert building, this week the first pour on the west side of the 4th floor took place. Progress continues on the masonry block work on the retail (North) exterior.

Shoring and decking is complete to the far east edge of the third level. Re-steel and post tension is on-going in the 3rd section of level 3. Pour number three on level 3 is scheduled for Tuesday, 11/06. Placement of structural stud walls on the third floor started on 10/24 and will continue until the building is topped out. Metal stairs have been prepped and poured up to level 2. Concrete placement will continue on a regular basis, utilizing closed roads or the alley directly adjacent to the project to minimize impacts to traffic/pedestrians. Deliveries will continue to increase, as Electrical, Mechanical, and Fire Suppression trades continue roughing in the garage and first floor, beginning to work their way up the building. Backfill of the foundations is nearing completion, reducing dump truck and earthmoving equipment traffic in and around the site.

The contractor continues to monitor the site for safety and implement additional traffic control techniques as necessary based on delivery volumes.
