Construction Update 10-19-18

Center City

On the Grand River building, this week the 8th floor wall panels are being completed and the first pour for level 9 is scheduled. Progress on level 9 will continue next week with another concrete pour planned. Interior work continues as windows make their way higher up the building. The first phase of rough ins for plumbing, electrical, and mechanical are largely complete on level 3, as work has already made its way to levels 4, 5, and 6. This week, elevators have been delivered and work is set to begin to install them soon.

On the Albert building, the slab-on-grade pouring has been completed, which marks a significant milestone on the completion of the retail portions of the building. On the east side of the building, plans have been made for the 6th floor (residential) pour as masonry work continues on the building. This week, the final pour for level 3 on the east side is scheduled, with plans underway for the 4th floor to follow in the near future.

Shoring and decking is nearly complete to the far east edge of the third level. Re-steel and post tension is following, completed to F line. Metal stairs have been prepped and poured up to level 2. Pour number two on level 3 is scheduled for 10/23, with the third pour on level 3 scheduled for 11/06. Placement of structural stud walls on the third floor is scheduled to begin on 10/23. Concrete placement will continue on a regular basis, utilizing closed roads or the alley directly adjacent to the project to minimize impacts to traffic/pedestrians. Deliveries will continue to increase, as Electrical, Mechanical, and Fire Suppression trades continue roughing in the garage and first floor, beginning to work their way up the building. Backfill of the foundations is nearing completion, reducing dump truck and earthmoving equipment traffic in and around the site.

The contractor continues to monitor the site for safety and implement additional traffic control techniques as necessary based on delivery volumes.
