Construction labor hours are approaching 100,000 as Center City continues its ascent. This week, the 11th pour was completed on the Albert building, with pours planned to begin on the west side of the structure soon.

On the Grand River side, metal decking and panels continue to be installed. The concrete pour for floor #6 is planned for early next week. Sidewalk work continues in front of the new Target location.

Consumers Energy Gas Line

Consumers Energy continues with the installation of a new gas main in the alley of the 100/200 of E. Grand River Ave. During this work Consumers Energy will have extended construction hours from 8:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. on Saturday, (08/25), Monday (08/27) through Friday, (08/31).

The Hub @ East Lansing

The first half of the mezzanine pour is taking place today (08/24). The level two columns have been poured along the northern half of the site in order to begin level two decking. The parking ramp connecting the basement to level 1M has been decked and is getting ready for a slab pour. Foundation walls on the east end of the site have been poured and will continue to go vertical to level two. Backfill and compaction on east end continues.

An increase in truck traffic continues to be expected as more materials and equipment make their way on site. The contractor continues to monitor the site for safety and implement additional traffic control techniques as necessary. The southern alley is closed and parking has been relocated to East Cafe for the fraternity members. The eastbound lane adjacent to the project will be closed for approximately one hour Monday morning to put up banners along the southern edge of Grand River Ave.

Work continues through the downtown Public Parking Garages with concrete and water-proofing repairs. The Grove and Charles St. Parking Garages, have been completed. The Division Street Parking Garage will be completed today (08/24), with final items. However, due to concrete cure times there will be barricades in place in the Division Street Parking Garage through next week.
