Board of Water and Light Overnight Work
**Please note: Some late night/ early morning work is expected to occur between the hours of 3:00am and 7:00am tomorrow morning (May 3). The Board of Water and Light (BWL) will be making utility connections for the project area, which will involve an electrical shutdown to the buildings directly adjacent to the project. Although some light/ workers will be on site, no noisy work is anticipated during that time. Businesses directly impacted by the shutdown have been notified in advance by BWL.** Questions can be directed to the BWL at 517-702-6006 or 877-295-5001.
Albert Ave. Closure Monday, May 7, 2018
As noted earlier, Albert Avenue will be closed from the West side of Grove St. to Abbot Rd beginning on Monday, May 7th. Pedestrian access will be maintained as the work takes place. It is expected to take approximately six weeks and will include upgrades to underground public utilities, roadway resurfacing, the addition of new bike lanes and sidewalks and walkway replacement/ improvement. Parking Facility Repairs
Restoration work will take place in the Grove Street, Charles Street and Division Street garages beginning Monday, May 7, and is anticipated to be finished in early August. Based on the contractors progress schedule the work will start in the Grove Street garage first, then proceed to Charles Street and Division Street garages accordingly. During this work, patrons can expect some parking spaces to be inaccessible or otherwise unavailable for periods of time as the workers make their way throughout the garages. Signs and proper barricading will be placed in the facilities where work is taking place.
