Construction Update 3-8-18

StartFragment

On Friday, a major milestone was passed as the last of the auger cast piles for the Center City project was drilled and installed. This week, the crane dedicated to that work will be broken down and prepared for removal from the site. Concrete continues to be the major focus, as more caps, columns, and stair/ elevator cores continue to rise. Next week, work is expected to begin on the underground utility work to serve the new buildings. To date, over 24,000 hours of labor from the various trades have been put into the project, with much more to come.

Truck traffic (especially concrete) continues to be expected at the site. With the fluctuations in the weather causing a potentially muddy situation, the construction company is actively cleaning up the area on a regular basis. City staff is monitoring area roadways and ensuring that cleanup is managed properly. The construction company also continues to examine the site to mitigate any impacts to the local community.
